Product of the Month: ST-M & STR-M Glands

STR-M Cable GlandThis month’s ‘Product of the Month’ is the SKINTOP ST-M & STR-M Glands. Lapp Group has a comprehensive range of cable glands available in both Nylon & Nickel plated brass, with IP ratings up to IP68 & IP69K.

Lapp’s range of SKINTOP glands are manufactured from tough nylon materials, offering many advantages over conventional stuffing glands. The cable glands are used in substantial volumes on panels, switches, and control equipment and within the machine tool industry.

All the glands feature a unique patented anti-vibration lock and because of their high IP rating (IP68 & IP69K), they can be used in a variety of dry or wet industrial environments. This range of SKINTOP cable glands works particularly well in the food and beverage industry.

The cable glands in this range have three key features ensuring the product is easy to clean and also allows it to be used under the most stringent hygiene standards. Lapp’s Product Manager describes the product by saying, “The rounded shape with no corners or angles, and the precision fit with very low tolerances in productions means that there is nowhere for residue to accumulate.”

There are a variety of branded goods by Lapp Group that have been awarded a variety of certifications proving they are reliable, robust and fantastic value. For example, many products including the SKINTOP cable gland have the ECOLAB certification.

In order for a product to gain this certificate, they have to be put through some vigorous testing procedures which will define the products reliability. No residue that can’t be cleaned away can remain and the test medium may not get into tiny cavities in the cable gland during the test.
