Lapp’s New VFD Cable Selector Tool

Lapp specialises in custom cable assemblies and populated chains for use in the automation control and drive industries. Lapp have collaborated and carried out research with various drive manufacturers over the years, which has led to the development of connector fitted cable assemblies for use with servo and VFD systems.

Lapp now have a new online engineering calculator available that helps users select variable frequency drive cables that meet their application requirements. This is a new mobile-friendly sizing tool, which prompts users to enter the applications horsepower and voltage or full load current and voltage.

The online tool will then calculate wire gauge. Based on the information provided, this sizing tool will go on to recommend appropriate VFD cables and provide technical specifications to help you choose the right one for you. You can also submit a request for pricing directly through the applications.

Simply open the tool here, select either ‘Voltage & Horsepower’ or ‘Voltage & Maximum Full Load Current (A)’, and follow the steps provided from there. The above image is a screenshot of the different stages of the application after selecting ‘Voltage & Horsepower’. This will then provide you with a grid of relevant products at the bottom, along with the specifications for you to consider.
